See "Bison Beauty" a Quilt by Mayleen Vinson

While similar to the buffalo, the bison is its own distinct animal. That is especially true in Mayleen Vinson's Bison Beauty because the bison she based her quilt on stands out due to its "asymmetrical horn." Inspired by an original American Bison photograph, Mayleen's quilt has its own message to convey, that "different can be strong, confident, and beautiful in both animals and humans." Exhibited at Houston 2019 in the Animal Kingdom category, the quilt features machine quilting, fused appliqué, and embellishment to represent an animal who is outstanding in its field.

Bison Beauty by Mayleen Vinson of Haysville, Kansas was featured in the Animal Kingdom category at Houston 2019.
