See "Where the Buffalo Roamed" a Quilt by Margery Hedges

Inspired by the art of Edward Aldrich, Margery Hedges quilt is one with a message. Where the Buffalo Roamed "is the story of the tens of millions of buffalo that roamed our western plains." Almost gone from the world due to hunting, Margery uses "the transparent buffalo in the background" to "represent their spirits" and shed a light on the plight faced by this great creature. Featured at Houston 2019 in the Animal Kingdom category it utilizes machine quilting, painting, and hand-finished facing to portray the majestic buffalo in its natural habitat of the plains.

Where the Buffalo Roamed by Margery Hedges of Austin, Texas was featured in the Animal Kingdom category at Houston 2019.
