See "Blue" a Quilt by Margarita Korioth

Most people read the newspaper, while Margarita Korioth likes to put it in her quilt, Blue. Margarita says, "The printed page has so much potential. The different letter fonts are excellent graphic elements. By rearranging them, an interesting layer of text and texture is created." Displayed at Houston 2019 in the Miniature, Art category, the quilt uses Margarita's "Infused Newsprint Cloth Technique", which "allows for the seamless integration of aged newsprint on various types of cloth" along with hand quilting and silk screening to present her blooming flowers. Blue certainly gives new meaning to what is black and white and read all over.

Blue by Margarita Korioth of Collierville, Tennessee was featured in the Miniature, Art category at Houston 2019.
