See "Shifting Shelter" a Quilt by Deborah Boschert

In each task we start we begin at the bottom and make our way to the top, like rungs on a ladder. This is how Deborah Boschert likes to see things and how she portrays it in her quilt, Shifting Shelter. "For Me, the ladder represent the process of moving from one place to another... physically, emotionally, and creatively." Featured at Houston 2019 in the Miniature, Art category, Deborah uses machine quilting, fused appliqué, hand embroidery, and painting to convey that creative climb. The viewer in this case is represented by the beautifully stitched flowers at the bottom and top of the ladder, showing that they have made it to the peak.

Shifting Shelter by Deborah Boschert of Lewisville, Texas was featured in the Miniature, Art category at Houston 2019.
